Japanese whetstones
Ever thought about buying a natural Japanese hone for giving you that perfect edge, but been put off by those exorbitant prices? We are proud to be able to bring you such hones at prices that won't break the bank. Some people think that quality is represented by price, this could not be further from the truth. One could buy a hone for a few thousand dollars somewhere, and buy one here for a few hundred dollars, and whilst there may be some notable differences, those differences will not justify that extra expenditure.
We also pride ourselves on the fact, we individually test each hone, to make sure they are free from fault and will not compromise a razors edge.
When it comes to using one of these hones, a lot of misinformed people have the belief that the only way to truly achieve thorough effectiveness, is to use synthetic and natural hones all the way up to #16,000 grit and above, and so in their collections, they will have anywhere from six to eight hones, before using a Japanese natural. The reality is, you can actually go direct from an #8,000 grit hone to a Japanese natural without increasing your honing time.
